BUDGET DEBATE The County Commission voted to keep the total millage rate the same for the 2014 fiscal year, at 3.3912. Nonetheless, because property values rose 4.2 percent this year, a number of homeowners will see increases in their property tax bills. The county commissioners had a lively budget discussion at their Sept. 6 budget workshop, and part of it centered on projected revenue. Commissioner Christine Robinson has been arguing against the county's dipping into its economic uncertainty reserve fund to balance the budget. "We can't erase the fact that we're spending more than our growth rate," she pointed out at that meeting.
