He will face Pete Theisen in the Republican primary a year from now. No other candidates have announced they are running for the seat. On July 31, county residents, nonprofit service providers, homeless advocates and local officials attending the meeting of the Sarasota County Community Alliance Homeless Committee session agree that homelessness consultant Robert Marbut should be paid $16,500 for four months of services in the county. By a show of hands, nearly all of the 50-plus people in the County Commission Chambers on Ringling Boulevard in Sarasota indicate their support.
