Citizens for Sunshine filed suit in mid-October, charging that Atwell and Chapman met without public notice with a group of downtown merchants concerned about vagrancy and homelessness. In another story — this one on Page 4, headlined Sarasota faced four suits in 2013 — the Brechner Report repeated the error. "The city and one of the commissioners admitted violating the Sunshine Law and settled," it said.
