With no dissension among the approximately 25 members present on the morning of Feb. 4, the Siesta Key Village Association (SKVA) passed a motion saying it will notify the Sarasota County Commission of its opposi- tion to any dredging of the ebb shoal of Big Pass or the waterway — based on the infor- mation at hand — to supply sand for the proposed $22 million renourishment plan for Lido Beach. The SKVA joined its voice to those of the Siesta Key Association (SKA) and the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce (SKCC), which passed similar motions on unanimous votes in January. The SKA acted on Jan. 9, while the SKCC board took its vote on Jan. 16.
