IT'S A WILD WORLD Barred owls are year-round residents in Florida. According to All About Birds, mem- bers of this avian species "don't migrate and they don't even move around very much." They are difficult to see once they have landed in a tree. I photographed this Barred Owl in my backyard in Bradenton and am fortunate to have a breeding pair nesting nearby.
