ARRESTED AGAIN Carmelo Curbelo Rene Sanchez ONE OF TWO SUSPECTS IN VEHICLE BURGLARIES ON SIESTA KEY HAS BEEN ARRESTED A SECOND TIME IN CONNECTION WITH ANOTHER CASE By Rachel Brown Hackney Editor The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office an- nounced Thursday, Sept. 27 that one of two men suspected of burglarizing vehicles at Si- esta Key Beach this week had been arrested for a second time. Since the men's arrests on Tuesday, detectives were able to confirm that credit cards alleged- ly stolen in a second case involving a Nokomis woman were used by Rene Sanchez, 35, and Carmelo Curbelo, 44, both of Miami, to pur- chase high-end electronics at Best Buy and items at Macy's totaling more than $3,200, a Sheriff's Office report said. However, both men were released from jail Wednesday afternoon after Curbelo posted a $60,000 bond and Sanchez posted a $30,000 bond, the report added. On the night of Sept. 26, deputies located Sanchez near Clark Road and Murdock Av- enue in Sarasota, driving a black Nissan, the report said. He was taken into custody and charged with one count of Vehicle Burglary, two counts of Fraud for Illegal Use of a Credit Card and two counts of Grand Theft.
