Those environments were very different, she pointed out, with workers proving more inspired in their jobs in the office offering merit-based pay. Last year, Robinson was the sole commissioner to vote against a $1,000 lump-sum payment for non-union employees in the current fiscal year. At the time, she said that while she agreed with the value of county employees, she was concerned that property tax values still were in a decline as a result of the recession.
