ARCHITECTURE DESIGN STUDIO
IN THE OFFING
The University of Florida plans to create a
graduate program in architecture in Sarasota,
similar to one in Orlando. Barwin made the
announcement during the discussion of formbased codes.
"It will be just around the street in about a
year," he said.
The effort could involve as many as 50 students. It will be housed in the current Sarasota County "print shop" on South Orange
Avenue, a building in the Sarasota School of
Architecture motif.
Local architect Guy Peterson, who is an associate professor at UF, was instrumental in
creating the graduate program. %
