Sarasota News Leader October 4, 2013 Page 64 FLORIDA NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY CHAPTER SPONSORING PLANT SALE Want to attract butterflies to your yard? Pick up some Florida wildflowers at a native plant sale on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sweetbay Nursery in Parrish. Plant them and "in no time you'll have butterflies, birds and dragonflies stopping by to enjoy the fruits of your labor!" a news release says. A large selection of native flowers, shrubs, trees, grasses and vines will be available at the sale, which is sponsored by the local chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, the release notes. "Experts will be available to answer your questions about what to plant where," the release adds, "and volunteers will be on hand to help you load plants" — as well as Flori Mulch, which will also be for sale — into your vehicle.
