stations. Today, the department has 28
fire stations "staffed by 499 dedicated first
responders," the news release points out.
Admission to the Sarasota County Fire
Department Open House was free, with complimentary refreshments available.
Numerous activities were offered for children, and a 9/11 memorial was available for
everyone to see, reminding participants of the
ultimate sacrifice first responders have made
to save others.
