On Sunday, Feb. 9, Sherra Babcock, vice president of education at the Chautauqua Institution in western New York state, will discuss 2014's selections for the oldest con- tinuing book club in America, the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle, during a presen- tation at Bookstore1Sarasota. According to Goodreads, the Circle was founded in 1878 and "has remained a leader in adult education through quality programming." The session will begin at 2 p.m. the store has announced. Bookstore1 is located at 1359 Main St. in downtown Sarasota. On Feb. 16, the shop will feature its next "edi- tion" of Poetry LocalMic, which will begin at 2 p.m., a news release notes. Local poets Ernesto Epistola and Roberta Beary will present their work.
