The Florida State University (FSU)/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training will pres- ent How I Learned to Drive, "Paula Vogel's compelling play about a woman's drive to freedom through an obstacle course of dark memories," Feb. 18 through March 9, the Conservatory has announced. Performances will be in the Cook Theatre in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, located at 5555 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. Tickets are $29 for evening shows and $28 for matinees. Students receive 50 percent off with advance ticket purchase. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Asolo Repertory Theatre's box office or by phone at 351-8000. "In this Pulitzer Prize-winning play, the char- acter Li'l Bit is behind the wheel, learning the rules of the road and life at the same time," the release explains. "Happy memories (driving lessons with her uncle) give way to disturb- ing ones (seduction that's all in the family)," the release adds. "There are choices children aren't old enough to make and a choice she has to make now. The journey Li'l Bit takes to make that decision is unforgettable," the release says. This FSU/Asolo Conservatory production will be directed by Jesse Jou, a freelancer based in New York City, the release notes, and it will be per- formed by second-year Conservatory students.
