Photo courtesy Florida Studio Theatre Florida Studio Theatre has announced tickets are on sale for PoetryLife Weekend on May 2 and 3. All proceeds will benefit The PoetryLife Fund, which supports educators teaching poetry in the community, a news release says. Tickets for the events may be purchased t h r o u g h t h e F l o r i d a S t u d i o T h e a t r e (FST) box office at 366-9000, online at FloridaStudioTheatre.org or in person at 1241 N. Palm Ave. in downtown Sarasota. M a d e p o s s i b l e w i t h t h e s u p p o r t o f BookStore1Sarasota, FST and the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, "the events of this creative weekend will bring together the poets and readers of our community as they share their passion for poetry as well as their original poetry," the release adds. Event organizer Georgia Court, proprietor of Bookstore1Sarasota, said in the release, "PoetryLife brings the nation's — and the world's — finest poets to Sarasota each year. I'm delighted to be part of a project that serves to enhance this city's already thriving arts community. Theater, opera, symphony, ballet, fine art, jazz — it's a joy to help bring poetry to the mix." The schedule follows: • Friday, May 2, The Craft of Poetry, a panel discussion — 10 a.m., Bowne's Lab; $15. • Friday, May 2, Mark Doty and Kevin Young Live Onstage — 7:30 p.m., Goldstein Cabaret; $15. • Saturday, May 3, Young Voices Poetry Reading — 10 a.m., Keating Theatre; $15. • Saturday, May 3, Above and Beyond Luncheon — noon, John C.
