Two members of the Sarasota County
Sheriff's Office Motor Unit brought home
awards after participating in the 25th
Annual South East Police Motorcycle
Rodeo Seminar and Safety Trials, the office
has announced. The event, held earlier this
month in Hollywood, included "three days
of intense training followed by a practical
skills test and a timed skills test which put
riders under considerable stress," a news
release says. Out of the 163 riders compet-
ing in the event, Deputy Chuck Flint (left)
took first place in the Novice Class and
Deputy Jim Klay (right) was named the
Most Improved Novice Rider from 2013 to
2014. Contributed photo
