Siesta Seen in town [May 11] and reports that Julie has a history of medical issues," the release noted. "At this time, the incident appears to be medi- cal-related and not a swimming accident," the release said. THE STORMWATER PROJECT The last update I had on the Siesta stormwater project — officially, the Beach Road Drainage Project — is that it is proceeding on schedule. In late April, Isaac Brownman, the county's director of public works, reported that the foundation had been poured for the pump house and the modular structure itself was due on site by April 23. He also notified the commissioners that it would take about three to four weeks for the pump house to be set up and wired into the pump station. The pump house work and the construction of the new parking lot for Siesta Public Beach are the most visible activities to passersby. % The Florida Department of Transportation has a contractor working this week on improvements to the Stickney Point Road bridge.
