Citing the importance of the issue, the Sarasota
County Commission last week asked County
Administrator Tom Harmer not to delay a
discussion of the Lido Beach Renourishment
Project until September.
After discussing the
concerns with staff,
Harmer said on May
16 that, "We think we
can find time in [June]
to have a discussion."
At that time, Harmer
added, staff also will
be prepared to offer recommendations on
how best to proceed if the commissioners
agree on an independent peer review of the
models and report on the project produced
by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

week from Sarasota

THE COUNTY COMMISSION REQUESTS TIME BE FOUND PRIOR
TO ITS SUMMER BREAK FOR A DISCUSSION OF THE LIDO BEACH
RENOURISHMENT PROJECT
We're still reliant on when the
report is actually provided. We don't
control that.
