Hundreds lined Main Street in downtown
Sarasota on Monday, May 26, to offer grati-
tude to the men and women who have given
their lives in service to their country.
The annual Memorial Day Parade, with its
theme, Legacy of Heroes, featured veterans,
first responders, color guards, Junior ROTC
groups, marching bands, military equipment
and local government officials.
Following the parade, a ceremony was held
at Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park, at the intersec-
tion of Main Street and Gulfstream Avenue.
It featured Brig. Gen. Frank Laudano, com-
mandant of Sarasota Military Academy, as the
guest speaker.
