Siesta Seen As previously reported, the trolleys will run from Southgate Mall on Siesta Drive through Siesta Village, with stops at Sarasota Pavilion — next to Gulf Gate — on Stickney Point Road. Trolleys also will run to Turtle Beach. In April, Carter mentioned that SCAT staff still was working on a new smartphone app with QR codes, which people would be able to use to check schedules. Between now and July 12, Keiderling said, SCAT will be install- ing 345 signs at bus stops to function with the app, which will go live that day. Passengers will be able to find out right away how much longer they will have to wait for a particular bus. "It's going to be great," she added. Last week, Hyland also asked, as she had in April, whether it might be possible for SCAT to sell daily passes on the key, an initiative she felt would be especially helpful to tour- ists during season. "I will definitely discuss it with Ms. Carter," Keiderling told me Monday. Carter noted in April that daily, monthly and seasonal passes are available from bus drivers. Possibly, Keiderling said, such sales could take place at the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce office in Davidson Plaza in the Village or from a kiosk. She is going to explore options on both the north and south ends of the island, she added. A sign on the fence (center, front) advertises A Taste of Germany in Siesta Village.
