The airbag deployed in a deputy's SUV after a driver struck it on Interstate 75, Sheriff's Office personnel reported. Contributed photo there was obvious damage to his vehicle, the release adds. In addition to the damage to Butler's SUV, the vehicle Butler originally had pulled over was struck by debris from the incident, resulting in minor damage, the release continues. Butler, who has been in the Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit for more than 15 years, previ- ously served as the Field Training Officer, the release notes. He has attended numerous schools to learn about enforcement-related topics, it points out. He complained of a sore ankle and burning on his skin from the airbag deploying when the door of his SUV was struck, the release says. There were no other injuries reported.
