Photo by Norman Schimmel SARASOTA MILITARY ACADEMY'S NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL IS SLATED FOR AN AUGUST 2014 OPENING By Roger Drouin County Editor Headmaster Dan Kennedy's long-range vision for a new Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) middle school that would prepare students for the academy's high school is closer to fruition. County Commission unanimously approved a rezoning of two parcels that make up a 10.5acre site on Fruitville Road, east of Interstate 75. Those actions clear the way for construction of the school.
