But the plan went public at the City Commission budget workshops on July 16 and 17. The Sarasota News Leader requested a copy of a letter sent on behalf of Jan Thornburg to all five city commissioners, claiming "a hostile work environment" worsened her "various medical conditions." She hired Tampa labor law attorney Janet Wise to handle her case.
