PROJECTED 60 PERCENT OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS

With the Sarasota County Schools' health
insurance costs predicted to rise 60 percent
over the next couple of years, Superintendent
Lori White has asked the district's chief
financial officer, its wellness coordinator and
other staff members to work as a task force
to find ways to improve employee health, the
School Board members learned during their
Oct. 15 workshop.

Suzanne DuBose, the district's wellness
coordinator, said during the annual update
on her area of responsibility that the group
held its first meeting last week. One big goal
is to find funding for employee incentives to
encourage them to take better care of themselves, DuBose pointed out.
