The Sarasota County commissioners on Friday, Feb. 21, decided to roll ahead with fur- ther study of two proposed Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) changes. If enacted, the initiatives would mean a big move for the bus transit sta- t i o n i n d o w n t o w n Sarasota and a new way of operating the bus system through- out the county. The commission first tackled the related questions of whether to privatize Sarasota County's transit system and consolidate it with Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT).
