SOARING STARS
Continuing the celebration of its 65th year,
Sailor Circus recently presented its spring
Legacy show under the Big Top on Bahia
Vista Street in Sarasota.
The Sailor Circus Academy is the oldest
youth circus in the United States, its web
site points out. It is an afterschool training
program for students ages 8 to 18. The youth
spend countless hours each week working
with dedicated coaches and volunteers, the
website notes. The results are aweinspiring
performances that surely make audiences
forget these stars are not longtime cir
cus veterans.
