The City of Sarasota Board of Adjustment on Friday, July 18, turned down James Armour's appeal to cut a 400-foot channel through sea- grass to connect the dock at his house, where he would like to keep his Viking 74 sport fish- erman, with the Intracoastal Waterway. That action marked his third failure at the initiative. He earlier tried appealing to the County Commission and then to the City Commission. Armour lives in the second-largest house in the county, which stands at 4449 Bay Shore Road. At 39,000 square feet, the home is smaller only than John Ringling's Cà d'Zan, which is just up the street. A current aerial shows the house at 4449 Bay Shore Road and the bay.
