Sarasota News Leader October 19, 2012 With thousands of performances under her belt, Massell holds a Guinness Book of World Records title as a performer in the "World's Longest Concert by Multiple Artists" in 2010. Accompanying her will be Dave Mankes on piano and vocals, Kirk Reyes on bass, Sonny Shake on drums and Chuck Weirich on trum- pet. The group will play songs from the "Great American Songbook." The series is funded by the Jazz Club of Sara- sota and ticket revenues, but this year, All- gair says, the Jazz Club is "actively seeking individual and business sponsors to help de- fray costs. If you're a jazz aficionado and want Page 91 Dick Reynolds/Contributed photo to keep jazz flourishing in our area, give us a call!" The series, which was founded in 2001, show- cases the region's top jazz performers on Fri- days from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruit- ville Road, Sarasota, the news release says. Tickets are $7 for Jazz Club members and $12 for non-members. A portion of ticket sales is directed to the Jazz Club's scholarship program.
