Newhart's comedy album The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart, released in 1960, went straight to No. 1 in the charts, beating Elvis Presley and the cast album of The Sound of Music, the news release notes. It was the first comedy album to ever make it to the top spot on the Billboard Charts; it also received the 1961 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. "There's gratification in making somebody laugh.
