part of the effort to get homeless people off the street and into the shelter. Further, Marbut and Applebee will be reaching out to private donors. Some of that financial support could go towards operation of two "portals" for homeless families and children. On another front, County Attorney Stephen DeMarsh will be reaching out to City Attorney Bob Fournier to address another issue: a unified approach to ordinances regulating panhandling and other matters relevant to homelessness. Barbetta noted on Feb. 19 that the City Commission wants to utilize a city panhandling ordinance that is different from the one recently passed by the County Commission.
