If sales tax revenue continues to come in at the pace Sarasota County has experienced since the recession, the County Commission will have only about $5.8 million left over the next five years to put toward capital projects not already funded. However, as Commissioner Joe Barbetta pointed out, that $5.8 million should be more than sufficient to cover payments if the com- mission pursues bond money for three major facilities projects — more space for the Tax Collector's Office so it can take over all driver's license renew- als starting in June 2015, as mandated The County Commission has agreed to about $250,000 in unanticipated repairs of undermining beneath the end walls and culverts of a crossing on Singletary Road in eastern Sarasota County as well as a partially collapsed 24-inch pipe on Verna Road.
