Rami Ahmed Abed Rabboh, 31, of Brandon, has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Designer Drug (a misdemeanor) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (a felony) after Sarasota Police Department per- sonnel executed a search warrant on June 6 at Snacks Grocery in Sarasota, the Police Department has reported. The search warrant involving the store, which is located at 1950 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Sarasota, was obtained following an investigation into the alleged illegal sale there of synthetic drugs, also known as "spice," a news release says. The owner of the grocery store, Rabboh, was arrested, and detectives seized 395 packages of a variety of synthetic drugs, $937 in U.S. cur- rency, a firearm and numerous items of drug paraphernalia "hidden behind the counter of the store," the release adds. None of the designer drugs was on display for purchase, the release notes. Instead, a customer had to request the drugs and then they were retrieved from a hidden area, the release continues.
