Sarasota News Leader October 12, 2012 After Tampa Bay Lightning Day activities in downtown Sarasota that day, Barbetta said, he went into the men's room at Selby Library about 10:45 a.m. and found a man in there "with very little clothing on" and "the water running like crazy," as the man attempted to bathe at the sink. "And that isn't the first time that it's hap- pened," Barbetta added of such situations at the library, because of the homeless popula- tion. "I don't think we have a problem at the other libraries," Barbetta said. "I think it's strictly that one downtown." Barbetta declined to make his suggestion a motion, which prompted Robinson to ask Reid "to see if there's anything that we can do" to handle the situation better at Selby Library.
