Sarasota News Leader October 12, 2012 Early this year, Taylor Morrison announced plans for a 260-home development behind The Glenridge in Palmer Ranch. "We're seeing a drop in [housing] invento- ry, which is an encouraging sign in Sarasota County," Sarasota County Commission Chair- woman Christine Robinson told the News Leader. "We're excited to see the construction industry pick up." The county commissioners received notifica- tion in early July that the Esplanade project was under review by staff in the Planning and Development Services Department. The development will feature single-family homes, villas and condominiums, or "coach homes," Longenecker said. Models are "slated to be open for public view- ing by early 2013," the news release says. Page 23 Longenecker declined to reveal any price in- formation. She encouraged interested people to visit EsplanadeBySiestaKey.com, where Taylor Morrison will post more details as they become available, including site plans. The company announcement says, "Walking trails will crisscross the community and at the heart of the neighborhood will be a beautifully appointed clubhouse, complete with a fitness center, gathering room, catering kitchen and library. … Just outside [will be] a heated la- goon-style pool and spa, sport courts, barbe- cue area and fire pit, and fenced bark park." The news release adds that the architecture will feature "barrel tile roofs, ornamental de- tailing and lush landscaping." The homes also will have "gourmet kitchens, expansive out- door living areas, and brick paver driveways."
