Originally, the site had 20 spots, but an email provided to me this week by Carolyn Brown, director of the county's Parks and Recreation Department, said that after staff members observed how people were using the new lot, they "decided to make a couple of small changes to better accommodate folks." On May 21, Brown had sent Commissioner Patterson an email saying staff had to work with Florida Power and Light to have a light pole relocated so the parking area at Access 7 could be reconfigured. "A purchase order was just issued this past Friday and an order for post and rope has been made," Brown noted at the time.
