Paradise in Season: New Works by Beverly A. Smith, Vladislav Yeliseyev and Joseph Palmerio will be on exhibit from March 14 through April 30 at the Celery Barn in Towles Court, the gallery has announced. The Celery Barn is located at 266 S. Links Ave. in downtown Sarasota. The exhibit includes abstract and impression- istic landscapes in oil and watercolor, a news release points out. The artists, who represent themselves in this show, will be available on the opening weekend, March 14-15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a life painting demonstra- tion by Yeliseyev on March 15 at 2 p.m., the release adds. A reception, with the artists in attendance, is set for March 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. For more information, call 330-6865. Smith has been a teacher, coach and exercise physiologist, but she now devotes most of her time to creating art, the release explains. "My expressionistic work is intuitive," she says in the release. "As I add more paint, movement, shape and texture to the work, it develops itself and becomes a painting." Smith adds that she is continuing her studies at the Renaissance School of Art in Sarasota, where she is concentrating on anatomy and figure drawing.
