The Sarasota Republican Club will host a candidates forum during its monthly meet- ing on March 20 at Marina Jack in downtown Sarasota, the club has announced. All four Sarasota County Commission can- didates "will be on hand to debate their perspectives on the county's top priorities," a news release says. The club's first vice president, Rod Thomson, will moderate the debate, the release adds. "This is sure to be a lively and eventful evening as there are critical issues facing the county," it notes. "Two new county commissioners will emerge from the November elections," it says, "but the winners are likely to be decided in the Republican Primary." The primary will be held on Aug. 26. The can- didates for District 2 are Paul Caragiulo and Pete Theisen. For District 4, they are Lourdes Ramirez and Alan Maio. The event will begin at 6 p.m. on March 20. For dinner reservations, call 888-325-3212. The cost is $30 for members and $35 for guests. REPUBLICAN CLUB TO HOST CANDIDATES FORUM ON MARCH 20 Marina Jack is located on Sarasota's bayfront.
