The Sarasota News Leader confirmed this week from Susan J. Jackson, a public information officer for the Army Corps in Jacksonville, that the Army Corps still plans to have the models and analysis ready for release in late April. In response to a question about whether the materials will be released to the City of Sarasota, the county and the public all at the same time, Jackson wrote only that the fed- eral agency "[intends] to present the results to the public." Alexandrea DavisShaw, engineer for the City of Sarasota, told the News Leader on March 26 that details had not been worked out yet regarding the distribution of the materials. She added that since the Army Corps is work- ing under contract with the City of Sarasota on the renourishment project, she anticipates receiving the materials first and then passing them along to Wreford at the county. "I think, really, we're just waiting till they get everything ready to go," DavisShaw added, before those details are completed. Wreford told the News Leader in a March 27 email that while he also could not say with certainty how the distribution would be han- dled, "[I]t was my clear understanding that A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers graphic shows the proposed borrow areas in Big Sarasota Pass.
