With Florida Studio Theatre's Improv per- formances quickly coming to a close for this season, the theatre has announced extra shows with the theme April Fools. Each will be presented at 10 p.m. on Saturdays through April 12, a news release explains. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from the box office in person at 1241 N. Palm Ave. in downtown Sarasota, by phone at 366-9000 or online at FloridaStudioTheatre.org. "During this hilarious battle of fools," each cast member will compete against the others for bragging rights and the "Fool of Fools" title, the release adds. "Who will the winner be each week? That's for the audience to decide. This is a seriously funny competition with high stakes," the release notes. "In 2010, we created the show as a special one- night-only event," said Rebecca Hopkins, FST Improv director and MC, in the release. "With rave reviews from our audience and [consid- eration of] how fast it sold out, we wanted to bring it back!" She adds in the release that this is the "per- fect show for [a] spring fling [because] audiences get to choose who wins the title, and we get to continue to bring laughter to Sarasota audiences." Along with Hopkins, the FST Improv cast is comprised of Christine Alexander, Tim Beasley, Chris Friday, Patrick A. Jackson, Darryl Knapp, Emily Levin, Angel Parker, Adam Ratner, Jon Sheridan and Steve Turrisi, with Nathaniel Stevens on the piano. All performances are in the Bowne's Lab Theatre.
