If there is a question, let one commissioner finish, so they don't talk over each other," he said. "We will have $1.9 million if they walk away [from the project]," Barbetta pointed out of SHD. "We will have a parking lot, and we will have a property on the tax rolls." But Patterson emphasized that the county was transferring a property for $1.5 million less than its value while it was subsidizing the cost of razing a building and building a park- ing lot two blocks away. She insisted the county should be receiv- ing $1.5 million at the closing, instead of the $958.862. Barbetta said even if the developer does not build a hotel on the site, at least some other allowed use — such as an office complex — would go on the property. "A hotel or office building, up to 10 stories," Barbetta added. "That's the most logical use there."
