Sarasota News Leader September 28, 2012 UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH PRESENTS 'BEAUTIFUL MELODIES ACROSS THE AGES' Area music lovers are invited to attend "Beau- tiful Melodies Across The Ages," a concert featuring tenor Robert Lischetti, cellist Julie Cornwall and pianist Don Bryn, on Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3975 Fruitful Road, Sarasota. The concert is the first in the 2012-2013 "Sanc- tuary Concerts" series, which gives audiences opportunities to experience concert music in an old European style, performed in a church sanctuary, followed by a complimentary re- ception with the artists in the courtyard. "Beautiful Melodies Across The Ages," will feature selected songs from tenor Robert Lischetti's varied rep- ertoire, including songs in German, Ital- ian, French and En- glish. The program will include the music of Robert Schumann, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Gabriel Faure, Claude Debussy, Samuel Bar- ber and Ralph Vaughn Williams. "This concert promis- es to be a celebration of beautiful melodies that can be appreci- ated by the novice as well as the music con- noisseur," says Don DeMaio, coordinator for the Sanctuary Con- Page 84 certs series. "The cello and the tenor voice interweave beautifully with piano accompani- ments to provide a lush and musically exciting rendition of these pieces." The Sanctuary Concert series will continue with the Mike Markaverich Trio playing jazz standards (Nov. 18, 4 p.m.); classical pianist Eleonora Lvov performing the great romantic classics (Jan. 27, 4 p.m.); the Sarasota Brass Quintet (Feb. 24, 2:30 p.m.); and Paul Duffy and Michael Hickmott performing classic Irish shanties and folk music (March 10, 4 pm). Tenor Robert Lischetti will be in concert on Oct. 21 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Sarasota.
