Detectives learned Schum had pawned some of these items in January and February of this year, the report adds. He is being held without bond on two charges plus $150,000 in bond on the remaining counts, the release adds. 17-YEAR-OLD CHARGED AFTER FLEEING FROM DEPUTIES The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 17-year-old driver who fled from deputies, crashed his car into a light pole and fled on foot. Around 10:45 p.m. on June 13, deputies observed a speeding gold Chrysler convertible traveling south on Tuttle Avenue and then turning left at the Eighth Street light from the center travel lane, a report says. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled through several residential streets, turned west onto Fruitville Road and then crashed into a light pole as it made a wide right turn onto East Avenue, the report adds. The driver, Quinton Davis, 17, of 4088 Velarde Lane, Sarasota, ran from the vehicle. A juvenile passenger surrendered without incident and was released to his mother without charges, the report continues. Members of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Tactical and Patrol units, with the assistance of the Sarasota Police Department, established a perimeter, and the Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit pilot and tactical flight officer were able to use the helicopter's Forward Quinton Davis/Contributed photo Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) camera system to direct an SPD K-9 officer to Davis's location, the report notes. Davis had taken off his white T-shirt in an attempt to avoid detection, the report adds.
