Bob's Boathouse attorney James E. Aker told The Sarasota News Leader on Feb. 5, "Actually, more work has been done on the site since the filing" of the emergency motion. The motion also points out that the establish- ment's employees will lose their jobs if the restaurant is forced to close, and it adds that allowing Bob's to continue operating "will not cause substantial harm to others." However, neighbors across Phillippi Creek from the establishment and on other nearby streets might take issue with that last state- ment, based on emails sent to the County Commission over the weekend. THE NOISE One woman who lives on Montclair Drive — right across the canal from Bob's — wrote on Feb. 1 that she and her husband were in bed reading at 9:30 the previous night "when the bass and loud, wall-penetrating music started. I had to leave the house. All I could think to do was drive downtown and walk around to get away from the music. I went alone because my husband refuses to give in to these harass- ers.
