Sarasota County libraries and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) are offering free assistance with the prepara- tion of 2013 tax returns through April 15, the county has announced. AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are available to assist with filing federal returns at the follow- ing locations, a county news release says: • Elsie Quirk Library, 100 West Dearborn St., Englewood: Mondays, 1 to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon; and Saturdays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. • Fruitville Library, 100 Coburn Road, Sarasota; Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. • Jacaranda Library, 4143 Woodmere Park Blvd., Venice: Mondays, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Selby Library, 1331 First St., Sarasota: Monday through Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, contact the Sarasota County Call Center at 861-5000 or visit the libraries' website at scgov.net/library, and click on "Tax Help."
