Art Center Sarasota will present a staged reading of Walter Cronkite is Dead by Joe Calarco on Feb. 9 at 4 p.m., the gallery has announced. Art Center Sarasota is located at 707 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. A donation of $10 is requested. For more information, call 365- 2032 or visit artsarasota.org/theatermind. Walter Cronkite is Dead, featuring Janet Davies and Emilie Robinson, "is a warm and insightful comedy about two very different women who are stranded in an airport," a news release explains. Patty is a chatty Southerner with a blue-collar job; Margaret is a reserved, educated and liberal Washingtonian. "To pass the time, they begin a conversation, slowly revealing profound truths about each other's lives," the release adds. "Their conversation leads them to a place of kinship that neither could have imagined. The play examines what might be possible if people from oppo- site sides of the political aisle would stop shouting and take even one night to listen," the release notes. Theater of the Mind, established in 2010 by Robinson and Davies, presents play read- ings and staged performances at Art Center Sarasota. All proceeds beneļ¬t the gallery, the release points out.
