The award-winning Sarasota Chorus of the Keys has announced its 64th annual show, Shake, Rattle and Roll, will be presented in two performances at 2:30 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Riverview Performing Arts Center (1 Ram Way) in Sarasota. This year's show will feature '50s and '60s favorites such as Shake, Rattle and Roll, Rock Around the Clock, Jailhouse Rock, and Sh-boom. Tickets range from $20 to $35 and are available by phone at 484-7589 or online at chorusofthekeys.org, a news release says. "It's clear we have 45 guys who refuse to act their age," said Bob Amer, vice president of marketing for the Chorus, in the release. "Not only will the Chorus sing songs you wouldn't expect, they will be dressed in colorful '50s garb and present an energetic, fast-paced show. It will really be a sight and a sound to behold!" Under the direction of Byron Poore, the Chorus will welcome back Sarasota person- ality Kent Perry as emcee, the release adds. Both shows will also feature internation- ally acclaimed quartet Acoustix, which has toured worldwide for more than 18 years and has appeared on CNN and NBC. A local quar- tet, The Best of Times, based in Sarasota, will also perform, the release notes. The Chorus recently announced a younger leadership team with Poore, 35, as its director and Patrick Kilbane, 34, as president. "This year's annual show will demonstrate their new direction and spirit," the release adds.
