T h e C i t y o f S a r a s o t a 's P u b l i c Wo r k s Department started repairs near 1873 Datura St. on Feb. 4, with the work expected to take up to 10 days, the city has reported. The road will be open to local traffic only. The work will include repairs to water, sewer and gas lines; the sidewalk; the pavement; the curb; and a sanitary sewer manhole, a news release explains. A brief interruption in water, sewer and gas service will be required for the installation of a temporary bypass system for utilities, the release adds. The repairs are necessary because of tree root growth under the pavement and into utility lines, the release says. "Commuters are encouraged to be patient while driving safely around roadwork," it notes. % PART OF DATURA STREET CLOSED FOR REPAIRS IN SARASOTA An aerial map shows the location of 1873 Datura St. in Sarasota.
